Health Coverage Enrollment

Children’s health coverage enrollment was the first and “founding” service of ACS. Since 1998, over 10,000 children have been enrolled in no or low-cost health coverage programs by ACS. This has been important for the entire family, but particularly for pregnant mothers and infants. Since 1998, there has been a major collaboration starting with Orange County Community Action Partnership which funded the initial outreach efforts and continuing with the California Department of Health and Human Services, Kaiser Kids, and California Kids. Adults are assisted in applying for Medi-Cal, Emergency Medi-Cal, and Emergency Medical Assistance for the Indigent (commonly referred to as MSI). All staff members are trained Certified Application Assistants for state health coverage.

Our Case Managers help families and community members fill out their state and government health insurance applications, apply for health services and attend health-related seminars.
